The good old UK has some top summer spots to get out and visit and with most people heading for foreign shores it could be worth heading one of them if you’re looking for quiet family summer holidays.

Norfolk has plenty to do as a great UK getaway and is much loved by British holidaymakers. Whether you want to be cruising down Norfolk broads or heading to a seaside hotel Norfolk offers a mixture of accommodation to suit everyone. Renowned for its wildlife, network of rivers and sun Norfolk is perfect for couples and family to take their summer holidays.

For the younger crowd Newquay in Wales is a very popular during summer and is renowned as the surfing capital of the UK. With a great nightlife it lures students from around Britain as well as other groups to enjoy the party atmosphere, perhaps the British equivalent to the Americans ‘spring break’.

Summer holidays, in all honesty, are spent abroad by most with myself included and as scenic and pleasant we won’t be picking up a fantastic tan unless we’re paying for minutes. The Mediterranean is the main destination for most of us Brits with the likes of Ibiza attraction the groups, the Canary Islands drawing in the families and the couples spoilt for choice. Of course everyone isn’t limited to the European borders with the wider choice of destination from various UK airports, from the Bahamas in the Caribbean, the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean or Hawaii Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
