For a low cost holiday you need to make sure you have the mental strength to hang onto your pennies. Many people cannot, me included, so you will need to devise a most cunning plan to ensure you bank account can hold the pressure. If you’re looking for advice on how to have a low cost holiday I shall share some of my wisdom, but you too in time will learn to become as tight as a very well tightened bolt.
One good example of shortening the cost of things is to cancel your flight meals, it may not be a massive fee but it want to save money you will. As I realise without any food you may be tempted to circle those who have meals to collect scraps, if you don’t know these people then it is best you wait till leave went to the toilets to scavenge. Better yet have your parents put sandwiches together for the flight to stop hunger.
Another low cost holiday tip I have stuffed my wizard like sleeve is carefully selecting where you’ll be staying. Of course you won’t want to be staying in a smelly cess pit, but would you settle for a fragrance free one? If you have sky high standards then the odds are that you pay more for the hotel you stay in than the guy who crashed the Titanic pays for boat insurance. As long as you research the place your staying at you will find most 2-3 star hotels have such a rating because they offer minimal facilities because of the type of people they cater for, it is really only family hotels who are 5 star because they provide facilities and services for young children as well as adults. You will find all you need at most 2-3 star hotels to be happy, such as bed, bar and pool. For those with no concerns where they stay youth hostels can defiantly help you with a low cost holiday.
Booking your flights and accommodation separately and through your own research will knock off a bob or two also, but I would only recommend that if your confident in your ability to get the details right. Nobody wants to turn up to a foreign country with nowhere to stay and find out that they bought one way tickets, damn Fernandez you said those pictures were for your art collection!
To be perfectly honest your holiday will as cheap as you make it, spend wisely whilst you are away and you should have no problems. Miss out the odd excursion and try to avoid any pyramid schemes’ and you should be fine and be able to enjoy a low cost holiday. |
