There are ways round paying high prices for your holiday package, the key is where to look and even when. Budget holidays are easily maintainable if you do a little research and bide your time.

One of the best tips is to book things around 11 months before you actually intend to go away, this is because the flights have just been released by the companies who organised them and cheaper seats will be available. At the other end of the scale it can be just as cheap, if not more so, to book up very late in fact a matter of days before the flight because at this time the company who has seats unsold will be keen to have them filled which means the customer has the upper hand. These two techniques should be the corner stone to budget holidays.

Your choice of accommodation is another key factor to the price being hiked way up. Instead of going for the best located hotel with a 5 star rating lower your standards and perhaps pick one that requires nice stroll into town, something which can help you better appreciate the resort, and also drop a star or two from your standards. Youth hostels are an excellent money saver and you can book them yourself, something which cuts out the middle man and can save you around £100 or so, and a lot of travellers take advantage of this option as it helps make great budget holidays.

Your destination can also be a massive factor and if you consider leaving Europe puts your holiday price well up then you will maybes have a rethink and look at great offers a little closer to home. Spain and Greece offer some of the cheapest destination and they are amongst the world’s most popular holiday destinations.

Budget holidays don’t have to be pain staking you simply just have to look what exactly it is you are paying for and consider whether there is a better, cheaper alternative. Flight meals add price to your deal albeit a nominal one but still affects your expenditure and can be taken off when booking. If you have your own top saving tips add them to these if you didn’t know them already and make budget holidays easier to come by for yourself.
