There is no better place to go for your August Holidays than Barcelona and while August is one of the busiest times for tourists you will not be short of a bargain holiday. August is when the Spaniards take their holidays so the city tends to me much quieter. This means there are bargains a plenty to be had. For example the hotels, normally busy with business customers, will be a lot quieter and hence discounts are often available to entice tourists through the doors.
Some businesses are closed during this time as proprietors head off for their own August holidays so cafés, bars and restaurants tend to be quieter too. Many a good bargain meal and drink can be had as they vie for your trade. The shops are aware of this too and are always keen to offer a good deal to any tourist who passes through their door. The nightlife in Barcelona on your August holidays is assured as the Catalonian celebration of the Festes de Gracia takes place on or around the 15th August. The streets are decorated, there is live music and food in the street. There is fun, excitement and revelry as parties go on long into the night together with an explosion of colour with spectacular fireworks displays. If you do not manage to make the Festes de Gracia there is a smaller but equally well worth seeing festival at the end of August. So if you are planning your August Holidays at the end of the month you can always enjoy the Festes de Gracia which is equally well worth seeing. |
